Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) On-Demand

CE Hours 19

About this Workshop

The ADOS-2 On-Demand Training covers Modules 1-4 and the Toddler Module for a total of 19 CEs The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd Edition (ADOS-2) is a semi-structured, standardized assessment instrument that allows us to accurately assess and diagnose autism and pervasive developmental disorders in individuals suspected of having autism. The ADOS-2 consists of various activities that provide interesting, standard contexts in which interaction can occur, thus allowing for observation of social and communicative behavior. The ADOS-2 can be used with individuals across ages (between 12 months of age, all the way through adulthood), developmental levels, and language skills. Each individual is administered one of five modules that is selected based on expressive language level and chronological age. During this On-Demand training, participants will be introduced to the administration and scoring of Modules 1-4 as well as the administration and scoring of the ADOS-2 Toddler Module; in other words, this is a combined training of ADOS Modules 1-4 and the Toddler Module. The Sunfield Institute ADOS-2 On-Demand training uses a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, videos, scoring discussions, and video administration of the instrument. REQUIRED MATERIALS TO PURCHASE It is REQUIRED that you have an ADOS-2 Manual and at least 1 protocol booklet of each during the workshop: Module 3, Module 2, and the Toddler Module. To purchase an ADOS-2 Manual and other materials, contact Western Psychological Services (WPS) at www.wpspublish.com or 1(800) 648-8857. You DO NOT need the ADOS-2 Kit to participate. PREPARATION Prior to beginning the workshop you should read the ADOS-2 Manual completely and go through the ADOS-2 kit materials carefully so that you have an initial impression of everything included. We also recommend that you review frequently asked questions about the ADOS-2 by following this link: http://psychiatry.weill.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/faqs.pdf TIME NEEDED Similar to the live training, this shortest amount of time the on-demand training can be completed is in 3 work days, if the participant should choose. Otherwise, a participant can choose to pace themselves. Please note that once purchased, the training is available for 30-days to the participant.
